A restaurant owner noticed some rustling in his trash and assumed it was raccoons, but when he set up a camera, he discovered two kids rummaging through the garbage instead. Sam, the owner, decided to help them and started preparing extra meals for them to take. The next day, Sam found the food gone and the kids appeared on the camera again. He realized they were hungry and invited them to have a meal at his restaurant. One of his waiters informed Sam that one of the kids had arrived, and Sam went to greet him. The kid, named Jamie, requested food for his siblings as well. Sam prepared the meals and asked for their names. Jamie hesitated but eventually provided the names – Jamie, Mary, and Tommy. Sam gave them the food and offered further assistance. That night, Sam waited for the kids and followed them to an abandoned building where they lived. He brought them more food and water and offered to help. The following day, Sam arranged for his friend Mary, an experienced foster parent, to assist the kids. Mary agreed to take them in, and the kids were finally safe and cared for. Sam added a paid forward policy at his restaurant and continued to support the kids with meals.
